About Us

Why we do, What we do.

It all started with a gamer's vision and the family of Officer Wilson to keep kids off the street, and Officer Wilson's family and friend's desire to keep his spirit alive, to continue to continue to serve as he did for many years, (14 years as volunteer police officer ) and to honor him.

  • What can we do to keep kids busy and off the street?
  • What can we do to keep them from getting addicted to Opioids or other drugs?
  • What can we do to keep them from doing the dirty work of older gang members, drug dealers?
  • How do we keep them from car-jacking for others? Selling drugs for others, joining a gang?
  • How can we keept hem engaged and active in a safe space?

These are the questions we asked ourselves, as we created this organizaiton.

Get Off the Streets.org – Officer Wilson’s Project

Mission Statement:Get Off the Streets.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded to honor Officer Wilson's memory by creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can engage in positive activities, build life skills, and form community connections. We aim to keep youth off the streets and away from negative influences by providing accessible resources, enriching programs, and mentorship.

Vision:Guided by Officer Wilson’s legacy, our vision is to inspire youth to lead fulfilling lives, foster their interests, and help them discover their potential. We believe every child deserves a chance to thrive in a safe environment, surrounded by people who care about their success.

Core Programs:

  1. Youth Gaming Lounges and Educational Spaces
In partnership with local organizations, we provide video game lounges where youth can gather in a structured, supportive environment. These lounges serve as safe havens, where participants can play games, learn, and build friendships away from the pressures and dangers of the streets.
  2. Work-Based Learning and Internship Opportunities
Recognizing the importance of hands-on experience, we connect young people with job training programs and internships. These opportunities help participants gain valuable work experience, develop professional skills, and build confidence in their abilities.
  3. Life Skills and Financial Literacy Workshops
Our life skills programs cover topics like personal finance, basic cooking, time management, and career planning. We are committed to empowering young people with the tools and knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their futures.
  4. Counseling and Mentorship
Inspired by Officer Wilson’s commitment to youth, our mentors serve as role models and provide guidance to participants. Through regular interactions, we foster trust and personal growth, helping participants navigate challenges and set positive goals.

Community Impact:Since its founding, Get Off the Streets.org has reached hundreds of young people, keeping them engaged, productive, and focused. Our programs not only reduce crime and truancy but also foster a sense of purpose and community belonging, especially for youth who face socioeconomic challenges.

How to Get Involved:We invite individuals, families, and local businesses to join us in supporting Officer Wilson's mission. Whether through volunteering, mentorship, donations, or sponsorships, your involvement will help us expand our reach and continue to make a positive difference in our community.

Donate Today:Your support makes our work possible. Contributions help fund our facilities, provide resources for our programs, and ensure that all youth have access to safe spaces and enriching experiences.
