It all started with a gamer's vision and the family of Officer Wilson to keep kids off the street, and Officer Wilson's family and friend's desire to keep his spirit alive, to continue to continue to serve as he did for many years, (14 years as volunteer police officer ) and to honor him.
These are the questions we asked ourselves, as we created this organizaiton.
Get Off the Streets.org – Officer Wilson’s Project
Mission Statement:Get Off the Streets.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded to honor Officer Wilson's memory by creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can engage in positive activities, build life skills, and form community connections. We aim to keep youth off the streets and away from negative influences by providing accessible resources, enriching programs, and mentorship.
Vision:Guided by Officer Wilson’s legacy, our vision is to inspire youth to lead fulfilling lives, foster their interests, and help them discover their potential. We believe every child deserves a chance to thrive in a safe environment, surrounded by people who care about their success.
Core Programs:
Community Impact:Since its founding, Get Off the Streets.org has reached hundreds of young people, keeping them engaged, productive, and focused. Our programs not only reduce crime and truancy but also foster a sense of purpose and community belonging, especially for youth who face socioeconomic challenges.

Officer Wilson Velazquez, passed away from a heart condition on 1./17/2021 . He had worked for the City of Cleveland for over 20 years as a Lead Mechanic for the Emergency Medical Services and for the Fire Department. In addition, he served as an Officer for the New London, Ohio Police Department for over 16 yrs. Officer Wilson believed in Community, they called him the Gentle Giant. As a result family and friends have decided to continue serving on his behalf.
